As a popular tourist destination, Thailand has focused its attention on airport immigration efficiency and passenger experience for Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT). To enhance the immigration experience at Bangkok airports, IST drawing on its extensive expertise in smart ports, has customized and developed pedestrian self-service clearance eGate for AOT, supporting the intelligent upgrading of Thai airports with advanced self-service clearance solutions.

In December 2025, the third batch of equipment for the project was successfully delivered and gradually opened for use to the Thai public. The customized eGate developed and produced by IST operate stably and reliably, providing safe and efficient self-service clearance services for global travelers.

The equipment for this project is custom-developed based on the actual conditions of Thai airports and customer requirements, achieving precise matching with client needs:
It integrates a multimodal biometric identification terminal and a contactless inspection and clearance system, which can automatically capture facial information of passengers ranging from 1.1m to 1.9m in height within 3 seconds.
The lanes are equipped with multiple verification devices such as passport readers, fingerprint scanners and barcode scanners, allowing passengers to flexibly choose verification methods.
An overhead bracket is specially added for installing displays to facilitate the broadcasting of guidance information. Arrival eGates are integrated with thermal printers to meet personalized printing needs.
Equipped with independently developed motor drives by IST, the equipment features fast response and smooth passage, as well as anti-tailgating functions. The whole process is contactless, efficient and secure, greatly improving passenger clearance experience.
